Migrating from XF 2008 and earlier to the latest : When upgrading from XF Rendering...

    Author: admin
Subject: 181
Posted: 08 Feb 2010 at 11:53pm

When upgrading from XF Rendering Server 2008 and earlier to the latest versions of XF Rendering Server there are several things to consider:

1) The main assembly for .NET development is Ecrion.Ultrascale.NET.dll. Please add a reference to this to your project. For JAVA applications use Ecrion.Ultrascale.Java.jar
2) Whenever possible, change your XSLT or XFD templates to have repeated content available in advance, as explained here: http://www.ecrion.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13.
Otherwise, set PreloadDocument in RequestParameters to true.
3) Your documents may not look 100% as before. One reason for this is that XF 2010 will use kerning information to calculate text layout. If you see major differences and you can't figure out why, please send to support the PDF generated by both the previous and current version and an XSL-FO file that will help us reproduce the problem.

Edited by gabig - 09 Feb 2010 at 6:02am
