    Posted: 19 Apr 2011 at 9:29am

I need my footer to only appear on the last page of my rendered document.  The Designer documentation states “Displaying certain pages or conditional headers and footers based up page location (first page, odd pages, even pages, etc) is done through pagination settings”.  I’ve looked “everywhere” in the pagination settings and kind find what I’m looking for (i.e. “Show footer only on last page”) ... I must be looking for the wrong thing.  What should I be looking for?

Hello David,
1) Make sure that the Pagination Window is open (toggled on/off in View tab)
2) Make a new Page Layout (right click on bold Page Layouts) and choose New Page Layout...
3) Name it "Last" or something similar, set up margins, etc and click OK
4) Optionally create a new Page Set in Pages to use the "Last" Page Layout (if you do not create a new Page Set, that is OK, you can also just make your existing one have a "Complex Master" meaning the same Page Set will use multiple Page Layouts)
5) Edit the properties of the Page Set that you would like to use the "Last" Page Layout by right clicking on the desired Page Set and choosing "Properties..." then in the "Edit Page Set" window, click Add...  then click on the "All-Pages" Layout and the conditional radio button and select "All Other Pages", then similarly, click on "Last" Page Layout and the conditional radio button and select "Last Page Only".
6) Finally, edit the "Last" Page Layout as necessary to display the footer.  You can do this by right clicking on "Last" Page Layout and choosing "Edit Page Layout".  You will be able to type directly in the footer section.
