The Add Connection dialog allows setting up connections to new data sources.
To display this dialog click the Add Data Connection button
in the Data Connections dialog bar or right click on the Data Connections root and select Add Data Connection.
The dialog also allows editing of existing connections. To edit an existing connection, right click on the connection in the Data Connections dialog bar and select Properties.

In the Provider Type box you may select the type of the provider and the location of the data source. User credentials are also supported if the database requires authentication.
The supported provider types are:

To customize your connection, select Custom and then click on the Advanced button to select the data provider and to specify the connection string and the connection name:

To test the connection press the Test Connection button.
