Add/Edit Style

Overview: Use the Add Style dialog to create a style in a .css file and the Edit Style dialog to edit an already existing style.

 

1. Add Style

Used to create a style in .css file.

 

Navigate to the Home Tab and find the Styles group.
Select Change Styles.  A drop down menu should appear.
Select New Stylesheet.  A New Stylesheet dialog should appear.
Select Browse and choose the desired location to save this Stylesheet and name the stylesheet.  The Manage Styles dialog should now appear.
Select New Style.  The Add Style dialog will now be displayed.

Options: Set the name and the type of style (the element the style applies to) and formatting options (attributes). An option to preview the applied changes can be found in the Preview window.  Options are highlighted below.

 

The available types of styles are None, Block, Inline and Table:

Selecting Table, apply formatting to different sections of the table by using the drop down menu:

To apply Formatting, use the expanding rows in the Formatting section to find the appropriate style change needed.  Then choose OK to submit the style.

2. Edit Style

Used for editing styles already created.

 

Navigate to the Home Tab and find the Styles group.
Select Change Styles.  A drop down menu should appear.
Select Manage Styles.  The Manage Styles dialog should appear. NOTE: By highlighting the desired style, a small preview can be viewed in the Preview window.

Click on the Modify button to show the Edit Style dialog.

Use the Formatting window with expanding and condensing rows to find the desired attribute to modify.
When edits are complete, select OK.
Select OK in the Manage Styles dialog to save changes and return to the document.
