A barcode is a machine-readable representation of information (usually dark ink on a light background to create high and low reflectance which is converted to 1s and 0s). Originally, barcodes stored data in the widths and spacings of printed parallel lines, but today they also come in patterns of dots, concentric circles, and text codes hidden within images. Barcodes can be read by optical scanners called barcode readers or scanned from an image by special software.
XF Designer 2011 can draw 128, 128 Raw, 128 UCC, 2 of 5, 3 of 9, Data Matrix, EAN-8, EAN-13, Planet, Postnet, UPC-A and UPC-E barcodes.
Barcodes are considered dynamic elements since they can support dynamic and conditional values. Insert a barcode from Insert menu and click the browse-button from the right side of the Value text-box.
The Property Value dialog will be displayed. Choose dynamic value by selecting the appropriate radio-button and then click the expand-button from the right side in order to open the Edit Expression dialog. Select the value you want from the Data Source tree (for example /catalog/@owner where owner=Joe Doe ) and click OK:
