Borders and Background

Use this dialog to format the borders, box shadow and background for the current paragraph.

To display the dialog click on the Borders and background button in the Paragraph group located in the Home tab.

 

Background

 

This dialog allows you to customize several background properties. A paragraph can have a background color, a background image (tiled or not), or both.

When the image is tiled across the background, you can choose both the origin (Image Offset X and Image Offset Y) and the Image Repeat Mode.

The image repeat mode can take one of the following values:

Repeat     : the image is repeated in both horizontal and vertical directions.

Repeat-X : the image is repeated only horizontally

Repeat-Y : the image is repeated only vertically

No-repeat: the images are not repeated

 

In the picture above, both a color (light blue) and an image repeated horizontally are used to compose the background. Image Offset Y is 50%, that means is displayed in the center of the background.

 

Borders

 

Use this tab to change the borders and shadows of the current paragraph:

IMPORTANT: In order to change the border properties you must select one or more borders using the border selection buttons.

 

The first button will select all borders. Once you select the border(s), you can change the Border Style, Border Color and Border Width.

Any paragraph and inline element can have a shadow underneath it, configurable from the Box Shadow Properties group.

The available properties are the Shadow Color, the Offset on X Axis and the Offset on Y Axis.

 

Note:

You can use the main application toolbar as an alternate way of changing borders borders_and_background03 and backgrounds.
Box shadow is painted with a degree of transparency on the background (alpha blending).

 

Padding

 

This tab allows you to set padding properties for the current paragraph:

You can set left, top, right or bottom padding values in percents, points, pixels, centimeters, millimeters, em or inches.
