Insert dynamic hyperlinks

Synopsis:

Sometimes you need to insert hyperlinks related to different links from your input XML. How can you do this using XF Designer 2011?

Answer:

In order to do this insert first a hyperlink with a temporary address. To do this go to References group in the Insert tab and select Hyperlink.

Open the Properties dialog bar for this using the contextual menu or the navigation bar (fo:basic-link). The you can drag and drop the desired value from the Data Source Tree after the temporary hyperlink, or over it to replace it.

Go to External Destination from Miscellaneous (you will notice there the address introduced previously) and click the arrow button.

The Property Value dialog will be displayed. Select "Dynamic value from input XML" and then click again the arrow button in order to open the Edit Expression dialog and select the path to the node which contains the link.

The picture below displays these actions:

Note:

If you want for the link to have the display text from your input XML, just drag and drop the field you want from the XML tree over the text displayed for the hyperlink in your document.
