The Navigation Bar allows you to traverse the hierarchy of your document easily. It is the bar of red XSL-FO structure names found at the bottom of the XF Designer screen:

 

 

The item that is selected will be in bold. To move quickly through the hierarchy, click on the desired item name with your mouse. Traversing up the hierarchy one step at a time can be done using "Ctrl + A". For the item selected in the Navigation Bar, the associated properties will show up in the Properties Dialog Bar. In addition, items can be deleted, conditional properties set, and items can be made into Components by right-clicking on the item from the Navigation Bar.
