Star Trek used to be one of my favorite shows as a kid. I would take the single-serving miniature cereal boxes and pretend they were communicators (sort of a walkie-talkie, for those unfamiliar). One day we all got real-life communicators. They even flipped up, just like on the show. With the emergence of cellular phones, and other modern channels, we began to feel more connected.

How can we best leverage our real-life communicators and reach our customers? If you’re reading this, you may have some clue as to the value of customer connection. A desire to engage with customers is probably what brought you here, in part. What if the technology for this isn’t as “Sci-Fi” as we thought when we were young? What if it’s right at our fingertips?
Today, we can do so much more than the Away Team (what they were called) could on Star Trek. Today's “communicators” let us access any information we want from anywhere we may be. With our software, we can click on documents that drill down into specific information. We can save preferences and then e-mail a custom invoice to anyone. When my wife asks me if I paid the bill, I can just highlight the payment and e-mail her the proof. Fantastic!
Like many people I struggle to completely embrace the future, but I do want to access it. I want the best of both worlds. I know that eventually paper as the primary source of communication will go away. But in the meantime, I still have use for it. And I want to use my mobile device too. There is a way that I can. If more companies could give their customers the present and the future, they could provide a lot more value.
Versatility in communication options allow companies to boldly go where their competitors have never gone before. Find out how you can utilize our real-life “communicators” today.
