Thatwill stay the same going forward.&nbsp; The enterprise Edition will support 1logical processor per license. Installation of the licenses will remain the same. &nbsp;We hope this is helpful to you.&nbsp;</span></div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.ecrion.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=316" rel="nofollow">justinw</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Virtual Licensing<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 29 May 2012 at 2:37pm<br /><br /><b>Question: &nbsp;</b>I just bought a virtual license that I've installed on Hyper V (Virtual Server), I'm getting an error message that is telling me I do not have enough licenses installed though. &nbsp;Why is this happening?<div><br></div><div><b>Answer: &nbsp;</b>When running inside a virtualmachine the software doesn’t have access to the actual hardware and it reliesonly on the info provided by the hypervisor.</div><div><br></div><div>The Ecrion license administrator will register the logical processors as physical. &nbsp;Each Virtual License should accommodate up to 4 virtual CPU's. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Specifically, XF Renderer will use the number of CPUs reported by the BIOS. Wheninstalled in a non-virtualized OS, this is the most reliable method ofdetermining the number of sockets.</div><div><p ="Mso"><o:p></o:p></p><p ="Mso">In a virtualized OS, hypervisors may have different waysof emulating the BIOS and deciding what will be presented to the guest OS as aphysical CPU.<o:p></o:p></p><p ="Mso">The problem doesn't stop there however. Some hypervisorscan dynamically change the number of virtual CPUs depending on the load of theVM.<o:p></o:p></p><p ="Mso">Because operating in a VM environment presents uniquechallenges, we recommend using per instance licenses.</p><p ="Mso">If you are having issues, remember to check the configuration of your Virtual Machine to ensure that the number of processors is configured correctly and communicate with your account manager to ensure your licenses are appropriate.</p></div><p ="ms&#111;normal"=""><span style="color:#1F497D"><o:p></o:p></span></p><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by justinw - 01 Jun 2012 at 8:16am</span>]]>
