    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.ecrion.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=326" rel="nofollow">tome</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 479<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Dec 2011 at 7:08pm<br /><br />I tested the following setup for running XF Designer on OSX, and I wanted to post to let folks know my experience.<div><br></div><div>We recently switched our development machines to OSX, and wanted a local solution for running XF Designer on a development machine.</div><div><br></div><div>After confirming with support that our license does not preclude running Designer in a virtual machine, we tested the following setup:</div><div><br></div><div>- OSX Lion as the host OS.&nbsp;</div><div>- VirtualBox with Windows 7 guest (32bit to reduce ram usage, and 2 GB allocated to Win7).</div><div>- XF Designer installed in the Virtual Box.</div><div><br></div><div>I was able to test this setup with a free TechNet evaluation of Win7 (32 bit).</div><div>http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/cc442495</div><div><br></div><div>In our testing, we found this was a great setup for us. XF Designer operated flawlessly in VirtualBox, and I could seamlessly access files across both operating systems.</div><div><br></div><div>We are considering moving to this configuration, though have not done so. I'll update if we run into an issues in the future.</div><div><br></div><div>Hope this is helpful to other folks in similar situations.</div>]]>
