I tested the following setup for running XF Designer on OSX, and I wanted to post to let folks know my experience.
We recently switched our development machines to OSX, and wanted a local solution for running XF Designer on a development machine. After confirming with support that our license does not preclude running Designer in a virtual machine, we tested the following setup: - OSX Lion as the host OS. - VirtualBox with Windows 7 guest (32bit to reduce ram usage, and 2 GB allocated to Win7). - XF Designer installed in the Virtual Box. I was able to test this setup with a free TechNet evaluation of Win7 (32 bit). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/cc442495 In our testing, we found this was a great setup for us. XF Designer operated flawlessly in VirtualBox, and I could seamlessly access files across both operating systems. We are considering moving to this configuration, though have not done so. I'll update if we run into an issues in the future. Hope this is helpful to other folks in similar situations.
