Uniform Access to Any Data
Data within an enterprise can be stored in various formats, including relational databases (which themselves come in a large number of varieties), text files, XML files, Web services, spreadsheets and a variety of proprietary storage methods, each with their own indexing and data access methods. In most enterprises data from multiple sources must be combined in order to obtain a complete data set. Ecrion Data Aggregation Server uses visual diagrams in Ecrion Data Architect to gather data from multiple sources on-demand and convert it into XML.
With Ecrion Data Aggregation Server, all data within your organization will appear to users as a single homogenous data source.
Data Integration
Data integration involves combining data residing in different sources and providing users with a unified view of these data.
In the traditional approach, multiple data repositories are merged into one; an ETL process Extracts information from the source databases, Transforms it and then Loads it into the data warehouse.
Because the merged copy doesn't update when the original data source does, the trend in data integration has favoured loosening the coupling between data and use a uniform query interface over a mediated schema.

Getting Started
While other data integration tools require a complicated API and months of training, Data Aggregation Server was built with the maximum simplicity in mind. All you have to do is to create a diagram using Ecrion Data Architect. The diagram is executed at runtime by DAS to generate XML from multiple sources.
