PDF (Portable Document Format) originally remained a propriety format until 2008 when it was released as an open standard. The PDF format provides a mean for sharing documents in a capacity that looks like the printable format.  Yet, the standard provides functionality for forms, interactive elements likes buttons, security, and much more.  More specifically, several specialized subsets of the PDF specification have been standardized as ISO standards.  These include PDF/XPDF/A, and more.

As a primary supported input and output source for Ecrion products, it is imperative to stay compliant with standards.  We support these at a professional level making our products PDF/X compliant and also supporting PDF/A for archiving.
