Answers:

  1. Do I need additional software to deal with big volume documents or your product handles them?
Our product handles very large documents so no additional software is needed.

  2. Is your product capable of accumulating inputs in order to release one large AFP output file?
Yes. Our product contains a tool which can render a set of documents into a large output file. For particular requirements some custom development may be required. Please contact sales@ecrion.com for details.

  3. Is your product capable of placing OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) marks in the margins of AFP output printed pages?
    Yes.

  4. Does your product render TIFF output in Group IV 200x200 format?
    Yes.

  5. Will we have control over how input/output files are named?
    Yes.

  6. How are your document templates working?
The document templates are essentially XSL stylesheets (in a simplified form). They are edited with XF Designer and have the extension *.XFD. XFD templates can be converted to standard XSL using Template\Generate Stylesheet option in XF Designer. XSL can be combined with XML to generate XSL-FO which is then used to generate PDF/AFP/TIFF.

  7. Do you have any additional technical demos or documents to help us evaluate if your software would meet our needs?
30 days trial versions for both XF Rendering Server and XF Designer can be downloaded from our web site.

  8. What hardware and software system does your product require?
    Hardware: Pentium 4 at 2.4 GHz or better with 1 GB of RAM;
Software: Windows 2000 SP4 or later.

  9. How can I render two different outputs (for example AFP and TIFF)? Can your product render both in the same time?
You cannot render the both outputs once. Just call Render() twice, with a different OutputFormat.
Some developers also perform a 2 pass rendering process: first render to SVG and then use the SVG as input to Render(). This ensures that the formatting is done only once.
