Do you ever supply site licenses, or enterprise wide licenses?
Yes. Please contact sales@ecrion.com for licensing terms and conditions.
-
Do you have any performance information / statistics?
Yes. Please see the Performance Comparison page or contact support@ecrion.com for additional benchmarks.
-
How can I pay for the licenses?
There are two ways to pay for the licenses:
- by credit card on our web site
- by purchase order which should be faxed at +1 888-409-7456 or emailed at sales@ecrion.com. A purchase order must have a unique number and should contain the signature of an authorized person from your purchasing department.

The licenses are per CPU. Is an Intel Dual-core CPU counted as one or two CPUs?
A multi-core (dual, quad, etc) CPU is counted as one CPU. A hyper-threaded CPU is counted as one too.
-
Do you supply D & R (Disaster and Recovery) licenses? What is the cost involved?
We offer significant discounts for Disaster and Recovery licenses. Please contact sales@ecrion.com for a quote.
-
We have a 'stand-by server' to offer redundancy, what would be the licensing structure for this model?
See D & R licenses.
-
If a single server has 2 processors (dual core or not), but we want the rendering server to run one of the processors only, do we still have to purchase the licenses according to the number of processors installed?
Unfortunately scheduling of CPU activity is performed by the operating system. Therefore, you have to either purchase the licenses according to the number of processors installed or to disable the CPU in BIOS.
-
What do I do if I want to use the product on multiple computers?
You will need to purchase a license for each CPU.
-
Do you have a deployment license agreement?
Please see the End User License Agreement.
-
Is there any annual maintenance fee to be paid on this software?
The licenses will never expire, however annual support and maintenance is required to continue to access updates and technical support.
-
How does the licensing work for XF Rendering Services for an active / passive cluster environment?
You will need to purchase licenses for passive computers, at a discounted price. Please contact sales@ecrion.com for a quote.
-
Is there any price break level in case I need to plan for purchasing additional licenses?
We offer quantity discounts if you plan for a large order in multiple stages. Please contact sales@ecrion.com in advance.
-
Is the Server license per server or per processor?
A server license is per CPU. Therefore, for a system with 2 CPUs, you will need two licenses.
-
If the license appears to have expired, how do I renew the maintenance?
In order to assure uninterrupted support for your production environment, we offer you the opportunity to renew your technical support with Ecrion. For more details contact sales@ecrion.com, preferably before your support expires.
-
What is the annual fee for support and updates after that?
The cost for maintenance and upgrades is around 20% of the purchase price (sometimes it is lower, please email sales for an exact quote).
-
Can we purchase X licenses and then upgrade to an Enterprise license (by paying the difference) as we roll out our application?
Yes, it is possible to upgrade by paying the difference.
-
Do I have to buy server license (per CPU) for all the customers?
Please contact sales@ecrion.com.
-
The license is per CPU, but how does hyper-threaded and multi-core CPU's affect this?
The product is licensed per physical CPU. It doesn't meter how many cores your CPU has, but how many sockets are in your system.
-
How well does the system scale with more memory / CPU's?
We recommend at least 1 GB of ram per CPU. The server will use all CPUs in the system to handle the load; each document is processed by one CPU only for the Standard/Enterprise Editions and by 2 CPUs or more for the Ultrascale Edition.
-
Can the developer license included in the XF Designer package also be used in a test environment?
Yes, but it is not recommended, and with important restrictions. Specifically your server will not be able to handle multiple requests at a time. All requests will be queued and will be executed one by one. If you want to perform real life test scenarios, load tests, etc., we provide Server Development licenses at discounted prices. Please contact sales@ecrion.com. for a quote.
-
Do Ecrion development licenses have any performance / scalability limitations as compared to the Enterprise Server licenses?
Yes. See previous question.
-
I am interested in using XF Rendering Server on both a development and a production machine. Does that absolutely require that we purchase 2 licenses?
Yes. On your development machine you can use a XF Designer license. If you plan to have a development server, it is recommended that you purchase a Development Server license.
-
Is there a licensing model for the "XFViewerComponent"? Is this feature included in one of the XF Rendering Server Editions?
